Vinyasa Flow

In Vinyasa Flow, the movements are linked with the breath to flow from one pose to another in a creative sequence.

Through this practice, moving with our breath can help to get us out of our heads, where many of us spend much of our time, and bring awareness back into the body - the synchronisation of the breath and movement creates a union between our body, mind and breath and can help quieten our normal "mind chatter”.

The physical benefits of this creative practice can be great; the use and movement of the body can build both strength and flexibility whilst releasing tension and creating energy and a feeling of space within the body.

Each body is wonderfully unique and different so these classes will have options for ways of moving to help you find a way that feels right to you - this may change at different periods in your life or on a day by day basis. I also incorporate Pranayama (breathing techniques), relaxation & guided meditations into these classes.

A word on props:

For this practice all you will need is a yoga mat and a blanket, however there are some yoga props that you might consider investing in that can aid and enhance your flow and support and align your body. My top 5 props are: Bricks (get 2), block, strap, bolster and eye pillow. All of these can be found easily online but if you need any help or suggestions, please do pop me a message.

Yin Yoga

In Yin, the emphasis is on staying in shapes for longer periods of time; it is slower and more meditative, giving you space to turn inward and tune into both the physical sensations in your body and what's going on in your mind. Yin yoga targets the deep connective tissues (fascia, ligaments, joints and bones) and helps to stretch and lengthen those rarely used tissues. By spending time stretching into these shapes, this practice may also have an influence on the bodies energy channels (meridians).

The monthly online Yin & Yang Yoga class will combine both of my teaching styles. A Yang flow combined with the longer holds Yin yoga. A practice of movement and stillness, exploring the threads that connect.

A word on props:

All you need for this practice is some space for your mat and all of the cushions, pillows and blankets that you can find, however these are some props you might consider investing in: a bolster (this will upgrade your Savasana if nothing else), a couple of bricks, a block and an eye pillow (this will give weight and darkness to your eyes and add an extra layer of relaxation). All of these can be found easily online but if you need any help or suggestions, please do pop me a message.

One to One

A one to one yoga class is an excellent way to build your confidence before joining a busy group class, or to take your regular practice to the next level. It will allow you time to ask questions, and break things down to suit your needs.

These sessions can take place at your home or mine. Contact me if you’d like to chat about these sessions or find out my availability/book in.

Please note all private yoga sessions have a 24hr cancellation policy.
